Buyers Guide to Bicycle Helmets

Bicycle helmets have to be mandatory when you ride a bike, no matter if you are 4 or 40!  Too many times our sales people hear excuses for riders not wearing helmets.  But the truth is, for every excuse for not wearing a helmet, they hear a story of how a helmet saved the rider from serious injury.

2015 Trek Bikes Trek World Review I was lucky enough to be one of the employees selected to attend the Trek Bikes 2015 Trek World Expo.  Our company sent the General Manager, store managers and myself to the event in Madison, Wi and Waterloo, WI.  I was really excited to go because I’ve heard nothing but great things about the event from previous years.  Read More...

Trek Bicycle Reviews
Trek Emonda ALR Review Trek Bikes recently introduced the Emonda as the lightest production bike they make.  As the Carbon Emonda received stellar reviews and the rising popularity of performance aluminum frames, it made sense that Trek would introduce an aluminum version.  The Trek Emonda ALR allows the rider to get a lightweight performance bike with better components than a comparable carbon bicycle.
2016 Trek Domane Road Bike Review The all-new Domane is built to respectfully challenge Flanders and Roubaix with three groundbreaking technologies that will irrevocably alter the time-honored battleground of the cobbled Classics: Adjustable rear IsoSpeedfront IsoSpeed, and IsoCore handlebar.
2016 Trek Cali WSD Mountain Bike Review The Cali uses Trek’s Women’s Specific Design (WSD) to make sure the bike fits correctly.  Trek uses it’s Smart Wheel Size design to ensure the bikes fit correctly and give you the best, most confident ride you can get.  The size 13.5” and 15.5” come with 27.5” wheels and the larger frames come with 29” wheels.
Trek Stache 29+ Mountain Bike Ride Review When Trek Bikes introduced the new Trek Stache with 20+ wheels towards the end of the 2015 summer, we (the guys in the bike shop) weren’t sure where the bike fit in the scheme of things. We didn’t know if it was a ‘new’ version of the Fat Bike or what.  We weren’t sure how we were supposed to sell the bike to customers.
2016 Trek Stache 29+ Mountain Bike Review Trek Bikes recently released the 2016 Version of the Trek Stache – The Stache 5 ($1760), Stache 7 ($2520) and Stache 9 ($3880).  Last year’s model was a 29er and was lost in the line up between the MarlinX-Caliber and Superfly hardtail models.  It didn’t really have a place.  To solve this problem, Trek has re-introduced the Trek Stache as a 29+ bike with 29x3.0 Bontrager Chupacabra tires.  For the weight conscious, the tires weigh 910 grams each and the new wheels weigh 2,280 grams for the pair.  The Stache 9 comes in at a respectable 28 lbs.
Trek Domane Disc Road Bike Review Just in time to combat the remaining spring weather across the northern hemisphere, Trek is announcing the addition of disc brakes to its widely acclaimed Domane line of endurance road bikes.   Click Here to Read Trek Domane Bike Reviews

2014 Trek Boone Cyclocross Bike Review The Boone is an entirely new bike, from the ground up. We started with our premium 600 Series OCLV carbon, and added the ‘cross specific IsoSpeed decoupler, Ride Tuned seatmast, the World Cup winning geometry of the Crockett, disc and canti options, and 3S chain keeper, all wrapped it in a package so light that it makes most road bikes jealous.
2013 Trek Madone Road Bike Review On June 26, 2013, Trek Bicycle launched an entirely new generation of its eight-time Tour de France-winning road bikewith the all-new Trek Madone line. Adopting the mantra of “fast is everything,” the new Madones offer a rider major advancements in three key areas: aerodynamics, weight, and stiffness. 2013 Trek Domane Road Bike Review We're proud to introduce Trek's amazing Domane (say "Doe-mahn-ee")! Development started three years ago when World Champion Fabian Cancellara asked for a more compliant race bike for the classics, like Paris-Roubaix. After extensive testing and refinement, the Domane delivered a win in its first race on the rough roads of the Strade Bianche in Italy. Trek Domane 6.9 Road Bike Review BikeRadar.com  When heading out for a test ride, we usually pick a route with a good variety of terrain that’s suitable for the type of machine being ridden. For a bike that was designed to conquer the Paris-Roubaix cobbles, and was ridden to victory in March’s infamous Strade Bianche by Fabian Cancellara, we devised the least road bike friendly route we could think of, taking in the roughest roads in the area to test the Trek Domane...Read More

Bontrager Product Review

Bontager Ion 700 Light Review The Bontrager Ion 700 is Bontrager’s first serious light.  Bontrager has been building and selling basic lights for a long time and is now offering a legitimate riding light.  The light can be used to do more than make your-self visible to on-coming traffic - the Ion 700 (700 Lumens via high-power CREE LED) is bright enough to make riding in the dark safe.

Bontrager Aura 5 Wheelset Review
Road.cc The new Bontrager Aura 5s are very good aero wheels that, although not cheap, offer impressive value for money.  First, well done to Bontrager for getting the weights right. The Aura 5's published weights are 770g (f) and 970g (r) – and that's exactly what they measured on the road.cc scales, plus 68g and 70g for the quick release skewers.
The rims are what Bontrager call an Aluminium Carbon Construction (ACC). That means they're 6061 alloy with unidirectional carbon profiles running inside. So the braking surfaces are alloy and the spokes extend straight through the carbon and into the alloy spoke bed...Read More
